Technical Managed Service

G7 offers a full Technical Managed Service for your applications.  We currently offer this service for many of our Lawson customers and work closely with our partner QuickThink Cloud (QTC) for best-in-class Unit4 Business World (UBW) Technical Managed Services and Cloud Hosting.

The Lawson service can cover database support for both Oracle and SQL, and operating-system support for both UNIX and Windows. Patches can be applied, scripts run and data manipulated as required. It will also cover day-to-day queries, such as a printer not working. 

QuickThink Cloud’s Agresso Managed Service and Cloud Hosting provides organisations complete peace of mind regarding the technical management of their UBW systems.  As experts in managed service provision, QTC will ensure that all aspects of your UBW system are covered including all versions of UBW, SQL Server, Citrix, Active Directory and any touchpoints from / into the UBW application.  The service includes (but is not confined to):

  • UBW (Agresso) Support
  • Automatic alerts and problem resolution
  • System optimisation
  • UBW (Agresso) Upgrades, Upgrades, Refreshes and Restores
  • Real-Time Continuous Monitoring of all Agresso systems and associated systems
  • Full DBA Support including custom monitoring

This approach allows QuickThink Cloud to guarantee that UBW is always available, performing optimally and allows our customers to concentrate on what they do best; managing their organisation’s needs efficiently and effectively.

Disaster recovery services

G7 can help you with your disaster recovery planning. This includes risk assessments, and services to cover loss of equipment, incapacitation to staff, loss of premises, cyber-attack, terrorism, and communication and power failures. G7 can also come back after a period of time and reassess the plans, risks and recommendations. Template methodologies can be provided, allowing you to roll out the business continuity and disaster recovery exercise to various sites.

The service includes off site backups, server recovery onto a new platform (in the event of platform failure), communications recovery (in the event of telecom failure) and complete site recovery to a remote site, in the case of a catastrophic event.  

G7 carried out a full disaster recovery for Northgate after the buncefiled disaster had demolished their HQ. The Lawson system was the first system recovered.

Data migration services

G7 have carried out complex data migrations for many customers. We can extract both current and historical data from the source system, from SQL or Oracle databases. Data from another repository linked to the source system, but with its own standalone structure, can also be included. Extracted legacy data is collected, collated, rationalised and written to CSV-formatted files for loading into the Lawson or Unit4 Business World conversion tables.

We can manage the process to ensure that the data extraction can be performed “on demand” and by the corporate entity.
