History of G7

G7 Business Solutions Ltd started life in 2001 with an initial 20 customers and 14 employees, after taking on the Lawson partnership from the Jon Hawkins Partnership. In the same year we also set up the relationship with Agresso, now Unit4 Business Software.

Since 2001 the company has maintained both the Lawson and the Agresso partnerships and their associated business streams. There has also been successful diversification into other products such as Space Time Research, Business Objects and V1 (formerly VersionOne).

Over the years several Directors have left the business either to start new challenges or to retire. The most recent board restructure happened in late 2012 leaving Mark and Dominic as the last remaining Directors and shortly afterwards James was appointed as a Director. Since then G7 has seen exciting growth, doubling the number of people and we are still actively recruiting. We are expecting to maintain a healthy and balanced period of growth as new opportunities are identified and moved into.

 

Looking to the Future

The next phase for G7 Business Solutions Ltd is very exciting as we move into new areas both in terms of the software and the services we provide.

The first area builds on what we already know, and that is an Application Managed Service, this time for Agresso Business World, (now known as Unit4 Business World), having provided this for the Lawson market since 2001. Application Managed Service is complementary to and does not replace Unit4 support, and is built on a case-by-case basis. This means we can tailor the package to your needs, in response to the particular challenges your business faces thus taking the pressure off your in-house support team(s). Some clients choose to use this service in the initial ‘post go live’ period, and others as a continuing support package. It’s your choice.  

G7 has led and supported Agresso Business World (Unit4) implementations across many sectors, including Education, Commercial, the Public Sector and Not-for-Profit since 2001. We cover all areas of the Unit4 Agresso ERP suite; financials, logistics, project, research, fixed assets, HR and payroll – as well as technical areas, such as data migrations and interfaces. Up to now this service has been provided under the Unit4 banner but moving forward we will be contracting for these services direct, often still working with the Unit4 sales team for the licence sale.

Running complete implementations is not new to us; G7 has been doing this for the Lawson market since 2001 (and before this via the Jon Hawkins partnership), and there have been large Agresso Business World implementations where the complete team have been from G7. 

At G7 we are also exploring software licence sales that can complement our offering. Watch this space for further information. 

G7 - Key facts

G7 is a privately held company – all shareholders are employees. If employees leave, their shares are bought back.

G7 has never lost a contracted client, except when they change to a different ERP system. Neither has G7 been involved in any litigation or experienced any bad debt.

G7 has never borrowed to invest. All growth has been self-funded. G7 has an AAA credit rating.
